Marque Brummett

Coach Marque Brummett is starting her 15th year in education and this will be her 9th year collectively in Rusk ISD. She currently serves as an assistant coach for volleyball and softball. As well as teaching Algebra 1. A dedicated educator and mentor, she brings a strong foundation in leadership, discipline and student development. She is a Class of 2000 Rusk High school graduate and played collegiate softball at the junior college level. Then, went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Mathematics from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2006. Since then, she has combined her passion for teaching with a commitment to athletic excellence, supporting student-athletes both in the classroom as well as on the court and field. Coach Brummett has been married to her high school sweetheart, Jonathan, for 24 years and they have 2 sons. Their oldest son, Payton, serves in the U.S. Army as an Aviation Electrician and Logan,12, will be entering the 7th grade. In 2017, Coach Brummett was recognized as the 2016-2017 1a-2A-3A-4A Sub-Varsity Softball Coach of the Year, a testament to her hard work, competitive spirit, and positive impact on her athletes. She continues to focus on skill development, teamwork, and character-building, helping students grow as both athletes and individuals.
