Peyton Kennedy

Coach Kennedy serves as an assistant coach for football, basketball, and track at Rusk High School. On the football field, he works directly with the linebackers, focusing on building smart, physical, and disciplined defenders. He also brings a competitive edge and leadership to both the basketball court and the track program.

A former Division I linebacker at Houston Christian University, Coach Kennedy brings firsthand experience of what it takes to compete at the next level. Before college, he was a two-sport athlete at Whitehouse High School, graduating in 2020. As a senior, he helped lead Whitehouse to a Bi-District Championship in football — their first playoff win since Patrick Mahomes’ senior season in 2013. On the basketball court, he played a key role in Whitehouse’s run to the Regional Tournament during his sophomore year.

Though new to high school coaching, Coach Kennedy has trained extensively with professional athletes and veteran coaches, gaining a deep understanding of player development, technique, and football IQ. He holds a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in General Business.

Off the field, Coach Kennedy is passionate about hunting and enjoys spending time outdoors. He’s also the proud owner of a pet ball python named Pogeaux. He is excited to be part of the Rusk Eagle family and is committed to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field.
