Jacob Owen grew up the son of a teacher and coach in Dublin, Texas and finished his high school career at Linden-Kildare high school. Jacob attended Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma and played football and baseball there. Coach Owen then was a student-assistant for the Crimson Storm football team for two years. Coach Owen entered the high school ranks last year as a quarterbacks coach and assistant baseball coach in Jacksonville. 

Coach Owen joins Rusk excited that the Lord has guided his path to be a part of such a special community and great coaching staff. Coach Owen believes the Lord’s calling in his life is to turn young men into better citizens, leaders, and competitors in that order. Coach Owen said “God has graciously given me coaching to use as an avenue to teach young people how to be responsible, reliable, and respectable REGARDLESS of external circumstance.” Coach Owen is eager to begin his new role with the Eagles and continue to “Go get more!”
