Katy Stover
Katy Stover is a proud 2008 graduate of Rusk High School. After graduation, she earned her Associate of Science degree from Jacksonville College, where she was a collegiate cheerleader. She later transferred to Stephen F. Austin State University, majoring in Journalism with a focus in Public Relations. In 2014, she married her high school sweetheart, Cord Stover (RHS Class of 2007).
Coach Stover began her teaching career in Alto before welcoming their first child, Lane (now 9). She later taught in Jacksonville before returning home to Rusk, where she and her husband had their daughter, Olivia (3).
She has been a part of the Rusk High School teaching staff for eight years, teaching World History, U.S. History, and Government/Financial Literacy. Throughout her career, she has coached cross country, basketball, and softball, and served as a TASO volleyball official for the Trinity Valley Chapter.
After taking a brief break from coaching to have her second child, Coach Stover is excited to return to the sidelines this year as the Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track Coach. She is especially honored to once again work alongside her former coach and current mentor, Coach Billie Walley. Coach Stover is ready to give back to the program that helped shape her and is eager to see where God leads Rusk Athletics in the coming season.
